Vodafone has launched two new recharge packs aimed at taking on Reliance Jio with unlimited voice calling benefits and 1GB of data. The new plans may not appeal to users who require a lot of data, but they should be good for people who prefer voice calling to data usage.
Vodafone's new Rs. 99 and Rs. 109 plans offer unlimited voice calling benefits. The Rs. 109 plan reportedly also offers 1GB of data and comes with a validity of 28 days. Calling benefits with both the plans include unlimited local and STD voice calls, along with free roaming. However, Vodafone has fixed an FUP of 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week on both the plans. Additionally, users can call only 100 unique numbers in the plan period.
While the Vodafone plans are aimed at users who prefer voice over data, Airtel and Reliance Jio provide more data in this range. While Airtel doesn't specifically have an unlimited plan around the Rs. 100 mark, it does offer unlimited calls and SMS, along with 1GB data per day for Rs. 149.
Reliance Jio, on the other hand, offers 2GB data and unlimited voice with 300 SMS at Rs. 98, with a validity of 28 days. It also offers unlimited calling, SMS and 1.5GB data per day for 28 days for Rs. 149, once again making it the most value for money operator in this price range.
Additionally, reports also say that Idea is launching multiple new offers to reach parity with Vodafone's offerings. This, reports suggest, will help in unifying the offerings from Vodafone and Idea into the new merged entity Vodafone Idea Limited.
