Google's cloud gaming system, Stadia, set to launch tomorrow with 22 games

Of late, Google's gaming platform, Stadia has been gaining a lot of traction. This is largely because of the unique purpose of this service, which aims to let gamers game anywhere and on any device. The 'cloud gaming' service by Google was much awaited and finally, it is expected to launch on November 19. Here's all you need to know about Google Stadia before it launches, when you can buy it and how much it costs.

What is Google Stadia?

At the core, Google Stadia is cloud service on steroids. We're all used to uploading our data to the cloud. Our files, pictures, music, video are all accessible on the cloud and now, Google is doing the same with games. Google Stadia uses the same principle and streams a playable version of a video game on to your device. Just use the Stadia controller along with it and you're good to go.

This opens up the possibility of being able to play on a full screen 4K TV, or on the go, on your Android smartphone. Keep in mind that you will need to have really high speed internet for this service to work properly and seamlessly.

What you need to know about the launch

In an earlier report a few days back, there was information that the cloud gaming service would only launch with 12 playable games. Now however, a day before the launch of the service, Google announced that there will now be 22 playable games at the time Stadia launches.

The 22 games include triple A titles that have already launched on either Xbox, Play Station 4 or PC. In case you thought you would be stuck with just a few games, then you can breathe a sigh of relief. The games include Red Dead Redemption 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Metro Exodus, Mortal Kombat 11 and a quite a few more.

Before 2020, there will be a few more games that will add to the list of playable video games on Google Stadia.

Price and Availability

There are actually several versions of Google Stadia that can be bought, depending on what you choose.

The Stadia Founders' Edition bundles everything you need to get going with the service for a price of $129. You can also individually buy the controller and the Chromecast Ultra for a price of $70 each, which is all you need to get gamin'.
