After 9 long years, Naughty Dog, the studio behind titles such as Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter and Uncharted, have finally revealed a release date for the highly anticipated Last of Us Part 2. The game is set to release on the PS4 on 21 February, 2020.

Along with the release date of the game, the trailer did justice to the first game and gives us a slightly better insight into what we will be doing in game.

Though previous trailers of the game showed parts of the gameplay and the world, this one gives more of an insight into the characters, enemies and environment along with bits of gameplay.

A continuation from the previous major trailer, it kicks off on a slightly light note, with a conversation and soon delivers on the post apocalyptic like world we became familiar with in the Last of Us 1. From the trailer, it is pretty evident that we will have the same enemy types and possibly, an addition of infected animals, who will add to the severity of the infection.

Apart from that, we also get to see what seems to be Tommy's town, which we got a glimpse of in Last of Us 1. Seemingly set in a mostly snowy setting, it is rather reminiscent of the Winter chapter from the first game.

From what we have seen in the trailer, it is highly likely that Ellie will operate with a group initially, after going her own way. Of course, Joel makes an appearance too and will accompany Ellie in her journey forward.

It would be safe to assume that the game will certainly tell a compelling story. The developers, Naughty dog, have proven their skill at making successful sequels to loved games and this one should be no exception.

At any rate, the game was highly anticipated since the past 9 years and now that we have a release date, we can't wait for 2020 to come faster.
