After several leaks and rumors, Google's mid-range devices, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are expected to be finally launched this month. As per teasers by Google and Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, the device will be launched in India on May 8.
Earlier, it was expected that Google's mid-range devices will be dubbed as the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL, however, a recent leak from Google had revealed that the devices will instead be dubbed as the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
Flipkart has now put up a teaser that says 'Help is on the way. Something big is coming to the Pixel universe'. There is a similar banner on Google's website as well and we expect that the search giant will host a global launch event on May 8.
The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are expected to run on Android 9.0 Pie. They're expected to feature a 5.6-inch and a 6-inch Full HD+ OLED display respectively. As per earlier leaks, the devices are expected to feature notch-less displays.
In terms of performance, the Pixel 3a is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC and the Pixel 3a XL is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC. They are expected to feature 4GB RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, both the devices are expected a 12.2MP primary camera with dual LED flash and an 8MP wide-angle selfie camera.
Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are expected to be powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charge support. Connectivity options on the device are expected to include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS and a USB Type-C port. We should know more about the upcoming Pixel devices in the coming days.
