Huawei's sub-brand Honor is gearing up to launch the Honor 10 Lite in India, with the launch expected to take place tomorrow. Although the name of the device has not been mentioned, the waterdrop notch in the teaser gives it away. The Honor 10 Lite will be launched as a Flipkart exclusive, which might run afoul of the new ecommerce rules barring exclusive launches such as these. These new rules come into effect on February 1, though.
The design and display of the Honor 10 Lite make the phone look a lot more premium than its price would suggest. The Honor 10 Lite comes with a big 6.21-inch display with a waterdrop notch and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, resulting in an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The back of the phone features an interesting pattern wherein the blue/red colour fades into transparency from bottom to top, giving a unique look to the phone.
Powering the Honor 10 Lite is Huawei's Kirin 710 chipset with eight CPU cores and Mali-G51 GPU. This is paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
In terms of imaging, the Honor 10 Lite features a 13MP + 2MP camera setup on the back, which is standard fare for devices in this price range. However, on the front, the Honor 10 Lite has a 24MP f/2.0 camera, which is also what Honor is hyping in the run up to the launch of the phone.
Other features of the Honor 10 Lite include a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is backed by a 3,400mAh battery.
The Honor 10 Lite is expected to be priced in the Rs 15,000 range in India. Complete pricing and availability details will be revealed tomorrow, with the launch event scheduled to be held at 8PM.
