Huawei today launched the Honor Play in India at an event held in New Delhi earlier today. The Honor Play was launched in China in June this year, featuring a 19.5:9 display and a dual camera setup. During the China launch, Honor also took the wraps off a new feature called GPU Turbo which helps improve the performance while reducing battery consumption.

In addition to the hardware features, Honor also revealed details about the new EMUI 8.2 update. The latest version of Honor's custom skin comes with AI features like object and scene recognition, 3D Facial recognition and AI-based Face Unlock.

The Honor Play is being pitted against upcoming phones like the Mi A2, and existing devices like the Nokia 7 Plus.

Honor Play specifications

One of the main highlights of the Honor Play is its 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) LCD display with a notch on top where it houses the front camera and the earpiece.
