How to: Pre-book Reliance JioPhone 2 on August 15

Reliance Jio announced the JioPhone 2 earlier this year during Reliance Industries Limited's 41st Annual General Meeting. The successor to the successful JioPhone now comes with a better set of features and a full QWERTY keyboard. The JioPhone quickly went on to become a successful feature phone, leading the market in its segment. A QWERTY keyboard, most popular with BlackBerry phones have often made it to affordable phones such as the Samsung Chat series or the one from Micromax. With the JioPhone 2, the company is looking to build on the success of its first feature phone before the competition gets going.

How to book JioPhone 2 on August 15

Pre-orders for JioPhone 2 will go live starting August 15 on MyJio app and To book the phone on August 15, you will have to make the full payment of Rs. 2,999 while confirming your order on the app or website.

Starting August 16 from 12 PM, the JioPhone 2 will be available on in a flash sale.

Reliance Jio will deliver the new JioPhone to your address in a few days from the date of the order. The company has yet to update the list of offers on its latest smartphone, but recently it has collaborated with SBI to offer special deals on JioPhone exclusively to SBI account holders.

JioPhone 2 specifications, price, features

The JioPhone 2 is more or less the same as the original JioPhone except that it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and offers a seamless typing experience. Plus, it's a boon for them texting addicts. The phone features a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It also supports microSD cards up to 128GB if you want to expand the internal storage. It has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP camera on the front. Powered by KaiOS, the JioPhone 2 will come with apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube. Users of the JioPhone will also be able to download these apps in the coming weeks from the app store in KaiOS.

A 2,000mAh battery powers the new JioPhone. It also comes with connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and dual SIM, with support for 4G VoLTE. Interestingly, this time around, the new JioPhone will not be locked down to work on the Jio network, like the original JioPhone was.
