Infinix Note 5 is an Android One smartphone starting at ₹9,999

After the launch of Mi A2 and Nokia 6.1 Plus Android One smartphones in India, Hong Kong-based Infinix Mobility has come up with its own Android One smartphone. Dubbed as Infinix Note 5, it is the successor to the Note 4 that was launched last year in India.

Transsion Holdings backed Infinix had launched the Infinix Smart 2 which is a budget device, in India earlier this month. The main highlights of the Infinix Note 5 include a full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display, a huge 4,500mAh battery and dual 4G VoLTE support. It is a part of Google's Android One program, which means it offers an optimized user experience with a stock Android interface and timely Android and security updates.

Infinix Note 5 specifications

The Infinix Note 5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and is expected to receive the Android Pie update soon. Google has promised all Android One devices will be updated to Android Pie by the end of fall this year. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.

In terms of performance, the Infinix Note 5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 SoC coupled with Mali G71 MP2 GPU. In terms of memory, the device has been launched in two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.

Coming to the camera department, the Infinix Note 5 features a 12MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size and dual LED flash. On the front, the device sports a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back of the device.

The Infinix Note 5 is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with Fast Charge support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS and a USB port. It has a dedicated microSD card slot, allowing you to use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.

Pricing and availability

The Infinix Note 5 has been priced at ₹9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant and ₹11,999 for the 4GB RAM variant. It will be available in Berlin Gray, Ice Blue and Milan Black color options exclusively on Flipkart starting from August 31.
