Leaked video shows a foldable phone allegedly made by Xiaomi

Xiaomi is working on a foldable phone according to a recent video leak shared by popular leakster Evan Blass on Twitter, that shows the said device in action. While Blass himself cannot confirm the authenticity of this video, we would request our readers to take it with a pinch of salt.

The video showcases a tablet-sized display running on MIUI 10 followed by the user folding the display from both the sides, transforming it into a smartphone. The resizing of UI elements to fit the screen after the folding action seems to be seamless and pretty easy. The bezels of the phone can also be made out in the video but there's no telling about its design.

Xiaomi is scheduled to hold a launch event in China on January 10 where the company might tease their foldable phone for the first time. Alongside, the company has already teased us with their upcoming 48-megapixel camera phone, the rumored Redmi Pro 2.

Foldable phones are the new talk of the tech town and while Samsung kickstarted the whole event back in November at their Developers Conference where they publically showcased their first foldable phone, 2019 could see a couple of OEMs introduce their own take on foldable phones.
