Motorola launched the Moto G6 Plus in India today, the latest smartphone in the company's popular Moto G series. Featuring a 5.9-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the Moto G6 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 630 chipset and comes with dual rear cameras.
Lenovo-owned Motorola has retained its classic and simple design with the Moto G6 Plus. The phone comes with a camera bump on the back with the Moto dimple just below it. On the front, there is a fingerprint sensor that also supports a few basic gestures, just like previous Moto smartphones.
The Moto G6 Plus features a 5.93-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display. Motorola has branded it as a Max Vision display, owing to its 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
While it is not known yet if the G6 Plus is a part of Google's Android One program, Motorola has launched the phone with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Motorola has included support for microSD cards up to 256GB.
One of the highlights of the new G6 Plus is its cameras. The phone features a dual camera setup on the back, with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for capturing depth information. The rear cameras come with Dual Pixel Autofocus technology and a pixel size of 1.4um. The rear cameras are assisted by a Dual Tone LED flash. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel snapper with an LED flash.
Other features of the Moto G6 Plus include a fingerprint sensor and Moto-specific features like Moto Voice, Moto Actions, Moto Display and more. The phone comes with a dual SIM card slot, supports 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C. It comes with a P2i water-repellent nanocoating for splash resistance. The phone is backed by a 3200mAh battery and comes with fast charging support.
The Moto G6 Plus has been priced at ₹22,499 and comes in a Deep Indigo Blue color. It will be sold exclusively via Amazon.in and Moto Hub stores across the country.
