Finnish smartphone maker HMD Global today launched the Nokia 2.2 Android One smartphone in India. The company's new entry-level smartphone comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and sports a 5.71-inch display with a waterdrop notch on top.
The Nokia 2.2 is an entry-level smartphone and that reflects in its specifications. It sports a 5.71-inch HD+ resolution TFT LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It has a waterdrop notch on top that houses the selfie camera.
Running on Android 9.0 Pie of the box, the Nokia 2.2 is an Android One smartphone like almost every other Nokia smartphone. This means that users can be assured about receiving two years of OS and security updates.
In terms of performance, the Nokia 2.2 is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU. It has 2GB or 3GB of RAM that is paired with 16GB or 32GB of storage respectively. The internal storage can be expanded up to 400GB using a microSD card.
In terms of imaging, the Nokia 2.2 keeps things simple. It has a 13MP camera on the back with an LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front. Missing on the back is a fingerprint scanner - it is something that would have allowed the Nokia 2.2 to compete better in this price range.
