Apart from launching flagship devices, Nokia has also been focusing on the mid-range segment to take on other smartphone makers. Now, the company is reportedly gearing up to launch the successor of the Nokia 6.1, dubbed as the Nokia 6.2.
As per a tipster, the device is expected to be launched in China by the end of this month or the 1st week of January. After its debut in China, the device will make its way to other markets, including India in the coming days.
The tipster has revealed some of the specifications of the device, including its processor, RAM and the display. The device will reportedly feature OZO Audio support, which means multiple microphones will be combined with acoustic algorithms to enable the device to capture immersive 360-degree spatial surround sound.
Like most Nokia devices, we expect the Nokia 6.2 to be an Android One device in global markets, however, the device will not be an Android One device in China. It is expected to feature a 6.2-inch display with a 'camera hole-punch', similar to Samsung's Infinity-O display. Nokia is also expected to use this in-display camera for its upcoming Nokia 8.1 Plus.
In terms of performance, the Nokia 6.2 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC coupled with Adreno 502 GPU. In terms of memory, the tipster mentions that the device will be launched with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, however, we expect that Nokia will also launch a 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage option.
As per the tipster, the Nokia 6.2 will feature a 16-megapixel dual rear camera setup with ZEISS optics. There is no information about the device's selfie camera. We should know more about the device in the coming days.
