HMD Global-led Nokia has announced its latest mid-range device, the Nokia 8.1 at an event in Dubai. As expected, it is the global variant of the Nokia X7 that was launched in China in October.
While the Nokia 8.1 features a similar design and specifications as the Nokia X7, it is a part of the Android One program like other global devices from the company. While the company has not revealed any information regarding the device's India debut, it is expected to be launched at the company's December 10 event.
The Nokia 8.1 runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and is a part of the Android One program. It features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ (2246 × 1080 pixels) PureDisplay with HDR10 support, an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
In terms of performance, the Nokia 8.1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. In terms of memory, the device features 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the device features a dual camera setup at the back consisting a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, OIS and a 13MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the device sports a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The Nokia 8.1 is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with fast charge support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.
The Nokia 8.1 has been priced at 1,499 Dirham (₹29,020 approx.) and will be available in UAE from December 15. It is expected to be launched in India on December 10.
