AI-backed cameras are all the rage these days and so, Oppo has today launched yet another smartphone featuring AI dual rear cameras. The new Oppo R15 Pro also features a notch and a 19:9 aspect ratio display for a near-bezelless experience. It is worth noting that the Oppo R15 Pro is a global version of the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror edition that was launched in China last year.
The Oppo R15 Pro is a sleek premium looking smartphone featuring a 6.28-inch Full HD+ OLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a notch similar to the one on the OnePlus 6. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.0 on top.
Powering the Oppo R15 Pro is the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The similarities with the OnePlus 6 continue, as the R15 Pro features a similar 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, EIS and AI-backed 16 scene recognition. The main camera is assisted by a 20MP secondary camera, also featuring f/1.7 aperture. The front of the phone houses the 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, placed in between the notch.
Other features of the Oppo R15 Pro include a fingerprint sensor, a hybrid dual SIM card slot, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS. Like many other Oppo phones, the R15 Pro also comes with the company's VOOC Flash Charging that can give you a backup of 2 hours with 5 minutes of charging. It is backed by a 3400mAh battery.
