Xiaomi's sub-brand POCO has announced a permanent price cut on its first smartphone, the POCO F1. From here on out, the POCO F1 will be available at a starting price of ₹19,999, and the price cut is applicable on all variants of the phone.
Earlier last week, Xiaomi's POCO had announced that it had sold 7,00,000 POCO F1 units in India since the launch of the phone earlier this year. Offering high-end flagship-grade specs at mid-range prices, the POCO F1 became an instant hit with fans. For the specs-conscious enthusiasts in India, the POCO F1 would've been like deja vu, what with OnePlus also starting out with similar strategies.
The POCO F1 is now available at a starting price of ₹19,999 for the 6GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 128GB variant is now available at ₹22,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at ₹27,999. The Armoured edition now costs ₹28,999. These prices are effectively immediately and reflect on Mi.com as well.
The POCO F1 comes with a 6.18-inch display with a slightly big notch on the top. Although it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo even now, POCO has updated the phone to MIUI 10, which brings a major revamp to the design of the interface.
The POCO F1 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. It also comes with the same camera sensors that are found in the Pixel series, with a 12MP + 5MP camera setup on the back and a 20MP camera on the front. It also has an infrared sensor on the front that helps the phone recognise your face in low-light conditions, making its face unlock solution superior than others.
Wrapping up, the POCO F1 also offers dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type-C port. It packs in a 4,000mAh battery and supports up to Quick Charge 4+, although the box contains a Quick Charge 3.0 adapter only.
