Xiaomi is rolling out the MIUI 10.2 update (MIUI v10.2.2.0) to the Poco F1 in the stable branch. The Poco F1 MIUI update brings some important new features in terms of imaging, making the high-end budget smartphone even better. The update should be generally available for all users on the stable branch.

Poco F1 MIUI update changelog

The Poco F1 MIUI update focuses mainly on camera improvements. Additionally, Xiaomi/Poco have also updated the security patch to December 2018.

  • Updated Android security patch (2018-12-01)

  • New: You can shoot 960fps videos now
  • New: Enhanced low light mode

Poco F1 users can now record videos up to 960fps, in addition to the existing 120fps and 240fps options. Additionally, Xiaomi has also added an enhanced low light mode in the camera app that should improve the low light performance of the camera. We have yet to test the low light mode, but the 960fps recording works just fine.

The Enhanced low light mode is perhaps Xiaomi's/Poco's implementation of the night mode that we have seen on other phones like Google's Pixel series and the OnePlus devices. It will be interesting to see how it works on the Poco F1. We will testing it out over the next week and perhaps post a side-by-side comparison with the OnePlus 6.

The Poco F1 MIUI stable update should be available as an OTA update for you. If you haven't received the notification yet, you can try checking for updates manually. If that doesn't work either, you can download this incremental OTA zip and install the update manually. You can also download the full OTA zip and install it from the updater as well.
