Chinese smartphone maker Redmi has announced the launch of the Redmi 7 along with the Redmi Note 7 Pro in its home country. Redmi, the recently announced sub-brand of Xiaomi has promised to launch the Redmi 7 along with the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China.
The Redmi 7 is identical to the Redmi Note 7 Pro in terms of design, featuring a gradient finish at the back and P2i nano coating, making it splash proof. The device sports a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera.
The Redmi 7 runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with MIUI 10 skin on top. It features a 6.26-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with 84% NTSC Color Gamut, 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
In terms of performance, the Redmi 7 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of memory, the device has been launched in three variants - 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the Redmi 7 features a dual camera setup at the back consisting a 12MP primary camera with 1.12um pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, the device sports an 8MP selfie camera.
The Redmi 7 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio and a USB port.
The Redmi 7 has been priced at CNY 699 (₹7,150 approx.) for the 2GB RAM varaint, CNY 799 (₹8,170 approx.) for the 3GB RAM variant and CNY 999 (₹10,210 approx.) for the 4GB RAM varaint. It will be available in China from March 26 in Black, Blue and Red color options.
