Xiaomi today announced the new Redmi Note 7S with a 48MP camera. Promoting the launch with the hashtag #48MPforEveryone, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7S at a price of ₹10,999.
The launch of the Redmi Note 7S solidifies Xiaomi's budget segment offerings - the Chinese company now offers smartphones right from ₹7,999 to ₹16,999, making sure there is a smartphone for everyone at these prices.
The Redmi Note 7S is same as the Redmi Note 7 for the most part. Everything - even the design - is the same in both the smartphones. The only difference is the rear camera setup.
The Redmi Note 7S features a 48MP primary camera on the back with the Samsung GM1 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, EIS, PDAF and dual LED flash. The primary camera is assisted by a 5MP camera that captures depth information. The rear cameras also support features like AI Portrait mode. On the front, there is a 13MP camera.
Apart from this, all other specs remain unchanged.
The Redmi Note 7S runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution 2.5D curved LTPS in-cell display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection.
In terms of performance, the Redmi Note 7S is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the device has been launched in two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.
The Redmi Note 7S is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac , Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.
The Redmi Note 7S has been priced at ₹10,999 for the 3GB RAM varaint and ₹12,999 for the 4GB RAM varaint. It will be available in Onyx Black, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue color options from Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores from May 23.
