The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S will go on its first open sale starting today midnight on Mi.com and Flipkart. The smartphone, featuring a 48MP camera, was launched earlier this month after weeks of leaks and teasers.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7S earlier this month, bringing a 48MP high-resolution camera under ₹11,000. This makes the Redmi Note 7S the most affordable smartphone with a 48MP camera, but unlike the Redmi Note 7 Pro, it features a Samsung GM1 sensor. Still, it should offer a better experience than the Redmi Note 7.
The Redmi Note 7S has been priced at ₹10,999 for the 3GB RAM varaint and ₹12,999 for the 4GB RAM varaint. It will be available in Onyx Black, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue color options from Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores via open sale from May 31.
The Redmi Note 7S is same as the Redmi Note 7 for the most part. Everything - even the design - is the same in both the smartphones. The only difference is the rear camera setup.
The Redmi Note 7S features a 48MP primary camera on the back with the Samsung GM1 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, EIS, PDAF and dual LED flash. The primary camera is assisted by a 5MP camera that captures depth information. The rear cameras also support features like AI Portrait mode. On the front, there is a 13MP camera.
The Redmi Note 7S runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution 2.5D curved LTPS in-cell display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection.
In terms of performance, the Redmi Note 7S is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the device has been launched in two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.
The Redmi Note 7S is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac , Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.
