Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has announced the launch of a new budget device in its Y series, dubbed as the Vivo Y91i in India. The smartphone is a toned down version of the Vivo Y91 that was launched in the country earlier this year.
The Vivo Y91i is aimed at entry level buyers looking for an affordable device. It features a gradient design at the back and sports a water-drop notch at the front, which the company has dubbed as Halo FullView display.
The Vivo Y91i runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 skinned on top. It features a 6.22-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution 2.5D curved glass IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
In terms of performance, the Vivo Y91i is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC coupled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In terms of memory, the device has been launched in two variants - 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the Vivo Y91i, it features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, the device sports an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.8 aperture.
The Vivo Y91i is powered by a 4,030mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB port. While the device is not equipped with a fingerprint sensor, the device supports face unlock.
The Vivo Y91i is priced at ₹7,990 for the 2GB + 16GB variant and ₹8,490 for the 2GB + 32GB variant. It is available in Fusion Black, Sunset Red and Ocean Blue color options from retail stores across the country and is expected to be available from online retailers in the coming days.
