After launching the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its gaming smartphone, the Black Shark in India.
Black Shark is currently working on setting up its India headquarters in Bengaluru and its India operations will be headed by Black Shark Global VP David Li. The company's marketing in India will be handled by ex-OnePlus Communications Head Chirag Nagendra.
Black Shark is a sub-brand of Xiaomi and specialises in gaming phones. The company has confirmed that it is setting up it operations in India and will soon launch its first phone in the country.
The Xiaomi Black Shark runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Joy UI on top. It features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with 97% DCI-P3 color gamut, 550 nits brightness and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
In terms of performance, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. In terms of memory, the device features two variants - 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. Like the Poco F1, the Black Shark features a liquid cooling system that can keep the phone cooler by up to 8-degree Celsius.
Coming to the optics, the Xiaomi Black Shark features a dual camera setup at the back consisting a 12MP primary camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.25µm pixel size and a 20MP secondary camera with 1.0µm pixel size and f/1.75 aperture. On the front, the device sports a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size.
For an improved audio experience while gaming, the Xiaomi Black Shark features dual smart PA, Hi-Fi audio and dual speakers. It has a dedicated Shark key that once enabled, provides an immersive gaming experience. The gamepad can be attached on the side of the game and its 150mAh battery will provide up to 30 hours of usage on a single charge.
