In a recent leak, Xiaomi's flagship phone for 2019, the design and specification of the Mi 9 were revealed. The Mi 9 comes as a successor to last year's flagship, the Mi 8 and will compete against the OnePlus 6T, OPPO and Vivo flagship phones.
The main attraction of the Xiaomi Mi 9 could be the triple rear camera that the phone houses. One of the three lenses may be a time of flight camera, allowing it to capture 3D images and enhanced AR capabilities.
The camera in the phone is going to be a powerhouse as it packs in a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor for enhances photo abilities. The screen of the phone will be a 6.4-inch 19:9 FHD+ AMOLED display with a water drop notch. The front facing camera will house a 24 MP selfie camera with a Sony IMX576 sensor
The rear design of the phone will be quite similar to what we have seen in the Huawei P20 pro and the Xiaomi Mi 8. In terms of technical specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with the latest Snapdragon 855 and a high-speed LTE modem. The phone will also sport the new in display fingerprint scanner which is a growing trend in the mobile industry. The phone will come in two variants starting from 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
As for software, the Mi 9 will come with Android 9.0 out of the box with a MiUI 10 skin applied on top. The phone comes with a 3,500 mAh battery which sadly, does not support wireless charging, but it is a reasonable battery anyhow.
The information that we have gained is only a leak, but the specifications of the actual phone may be different. However, leaks are usually correct in their specification reveals and Xiaomi could keep these specs and aim to please.
