Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced a price cut for the company's Android One device, the Mi A2 in India. The Mi A2 is now available with a starting price of ₹11,999 for the 4GB RAM varaint.
The price cut was announced by Xiaomi Global Vice President and India MD Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter. Along with the price cut, he also announced a giveaway of the second-generation Android One device from Xiaomi.
Interestingly, this is the third price cut that the Mi A2 has received. The device was launched with a starting price of ₹17,999 and has receives price cuts of ₹4,000 prior to this.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and is a part of the Android One program. It features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels ) resolution 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the device is available in two variants - 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi A2 features a dual camera setup at the back consisting a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, EIS and a 20MP secondary camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/1.75 aperture. On the front, the device sports a 20MP selfie camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and a soft LED flash.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is powered by a 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
