Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is on a launch spree in India and has already launched several devices in the country. Yesterday, it started teasing the launch of five smart home devices in India and today, the company started teasing the global launch of the Mi Max 3, the company's biggest smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 was launched in China in July and is now expected to be launched globally, including India. While the company has not mentioned the date or venue for the launch, we expect India to be among the first countries to receive the device.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 skinned on top. It features a huge 6.9-inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Due to the huge display, one-handed usage is very hard on the device.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. In terms of memory, it will be available in two variants - 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.9 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, dual-pixel autofocus technology and a secondary 5MP camera. On the front, the device sports an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12μm pixel size.
Powering the huge device is a huge 5,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
While Xiaomi has not revealed the Indian pricing of the device, it is expected to be priced similar to its China pricing. The Mi Max 3 is priced at CNY 1,699 (Rs. 18,040 approx.) for the 4GB RAM variant and CNY 1,999 (Rs. 21,230 approx.) for the 6GB RAM variant. It will be available in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue color options.
