Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch a new Mi TV and a soundbar in India on January 10. The Chinese company could launch a 55-inch Mi TV 4X Pro model instead of a previously reported 65-inch model, in addition to the Mi Soundbar.
The Mi TV 4X Pro 55-inch model was launched in China earlier last year - in fact this particular TV model was launched in May 2018, so the Indian launch will be held after a gap of almost eight months. It was earlier reported that Xiaomi might launch a bigger 65-inch model of its existing Mi TV 4 lineup in the country. The Mi Soundbar was also launched in China last year, featuring eight sound units.
According to a report, the Mi TV 4X Pro will be launched in India during the January 10 event. The 55-inch variant will mark the launch of the fourth Mi TV 4 lineup in the country - Xiaomi debuted its TVs in India with the Mi TV 4 series and followed it up with the Mi TV 4A and the Mi TV 4C Pro series later.
The 55-inch Mi TV 4X Pro features a 55-inch panel with support for 4K resolution, presumably with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The Mi TV 4X Pro is also expected to run on PatchWall UI based on Android, similar to what we've seen on the existing Mi TVs in India.
The Mi TV 4X Pro is also said to feature 20W speakers with Dolby audio, a quad-core chipset, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 3x HDMI ports, 2x USB ports, 1x AV Input and 1x S/PDIF. It might also feature AI-based voice recognition.
The Mi TV 4X Pro 55-inch model is priced at CNY 2,799 in China, which translates to roughly ₹28,700, so we can expect Xiaomi to launch the TV in the sub-₹30,000 range.
The Mi Soundbar will be the first such product to launch in India, although Xiaomi also sells pocket Bluetooth speakers. The Mi Soundbar will feature eight sound units, including 2x 20mm dome tweeters and 2x 2.5-inch woofers, with a maximum sound output of 28W.
Connectivity options will include Bluetooth, Line In, Aux-in and SPDIF.
