Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has released a list of its devices that will receive the Android Q Beta update this year. Last month, at the Google I/O, the company in partnership with Google had announced that some of its devices will soon receive the Android Q Beta.
During the Google I/O event, the company had mentioned only two devices, the Mi Mix 3 5G and the Mi 9 as the devices that will get the Android Q Beta update. However, soon after the event, the company added the Redmi K20 Pro to the list.
Today, Xiaomi has announced that it plans to rollout the Android Q Open Beta update for some more devices, including the company's popular Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. While the company's flagship devices like the Mi 9 and the Redmi K20 Pro will start receiving the Android Q Open Beta update in Q4 2019, the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro will get the update in Q1 2020.
Xiaomi is expected to add more devices to this list in the coming days and we expect that those devices will get the Android Q Open Beta update in Q1 2020 or later. It must be noted that the update schedule for the above devices is subject to change and the smartphone maker will update its forum post to reflect those changes.
Xiaomi is expected to announce MIUI 11, the next iteration of MIUI in Q3 2019, however, it will take some time before we get an Android Q based MIUI 11. Currently, most Xiaomi devices are running on Android 9.0 Pie or Android 8.1 Oreo based MIUI 10.
