Nubia, a sub-brand of ZTE, will be launching its first gaming phone, the Red Magic in India post-Diwali. Their aim is to promote a better gameplay style while keeping the basic smartphone features available to the users. Some design cues give it an extremely futuristic look that is rather unmistakable. The Nubia Red Magic will be priced in the sub-₹30,000 price point and is sure to have its own spotlight as it is announced.
Back in April, ZTE had teased a gaming phone for high-end gamers to take on OnePlus, which is also launching their new flagship device, OnePlus 6T in just a few hours from now.
The Nubia Red Magic is a phone designed to cater to the needs of gamers who have to push the software and hardware to the extreme limits. With loads of software optimization and special hardware, it aims to deliver the best gaming experience. Some unique features like the graphite-cooled back, a customisable RGB strip at the back and the full HD + display and makes for some great looks and swift performance. The Red Magic will have two variants- the base model with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the other with 8GB of RAM and128GB onboard storage.
Weighing in at 158 grams and 9.5 mm thickness its a rather slim phone housing the 3,800 mAH battery. The Nubia Red Magic features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) LTPS TFT display which has an 18:9 aspect ratio, a pixel density of 403 ppi, and an 85 percent screen-to-body ratio, making for a great viewing experience.
The Red Magic runs on Android 8.1 Oreo powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.45GHz and is backed by Adreno 540 GPU as the graphics processor. This is supported by a 6GB and 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64 GB and 128 GB storage respectively. At the bottom of the phone are a USB Type- C port and a 3.5mm audio jack for headphone connectivity, a welcome move.
Coming to the camera department, there is a single 24-megapixel sensor with a f/1.7 aperture and 4K recording support at 30fps on the back. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera supports slow motion recording and a time-lapse mode as well.
Nubia Red Magic is aiming to enter India with a sub-₹30,000 price tag. The phone will launch sometime after Diwali, putting it in competition with the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi. In addition, ZTE will be providing additional benefits to users who pre-book the Nubia Red Magic.
