Here's a list of all the upcoming smartphones in July 2018 in India

July is going to be a really busy month as far as the smartphone market goes. In a country which witnessed a 124 million shipment of smartphones, in 2017 alone, it's safe to say that the end consumer will rarely be ever let go empty handed.

This month, we have a couple of insanely cool smartphones just impending to be set out in the wild. Following is a list of the smartphones launching in July 2018.

July 4

Asus Zenfone 5Z

The Asus Zenfone 5Z which is touted as a direct competitor to the likes of OnePlus 6 is on its way to India. The Zenfone 5Z will be launched on July 4 in India. The 7.7mm thin, Zenfone 5Z features a 6.2-inch FHD+ (2246x1080 pixels) IPS display which has an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a notch design on the front which is why it has a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.

Asus Zenfone 5Z is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset which is further backed by Adreno 630. The phone comes in RAM and storage variants of 4GB/6GB/8GB and 64GB/128GB/256GB respectively. It runs on Android 8.0 based ZenUI 5.0.

The smartphone has a dual camera setup which consists of a primary 12-megapixel camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The front houses a single 8-megapixel selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture.

Asus Zenfone 5Z has a battery capacity of 3,300mAh.

July 10

Moto E5 Plus

Motorola's budget offering is making its way to India after being launched in Brazil. The Moto E5 Plus features a 6-inch HD+ (1440x720 pixels) IPS display which is coated with a layer of Gorilla Glass.

The E5 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 and is backed by RAM and storage variants of 2GB/3GB and 16GB/64GB respectively. The smartphone provides a near stock Android experience with Android 8.0 Oreo running out-of-the-box.

Moto E5 Plus sports a 12-megapixel rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone draws power from a 5,000mAh battery which supports Turbo Charge.

July 12

Oppo Find X

On July 12, India will get one of the most smartly designed phones yet. Oppo's Find X is the company's contender in this bezel-less smartphone race with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 which results in a rather bezel-free design. It features a 6.42-inch AMOLED display which is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass. The Find X has a staggering screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent. It is an all glass design and looks really appealing to the eye.

No, it doesn't have a notch! But wait, where did the front camera go?

Oppo has very stealthy outfitted the Find X with a motorized bezel which contains the camera modules, both front and rear. On the front, the phone has an array of sensors for its 3D camera setup with facial recognition. The bezel has a flood illuminator, infrared camera, ranging sensor, front camera and the dot projector which beams over 15,000 dots make up the smartphone's facial recognition unit. The Find X banks on its 3D camera tech excessively as it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor.

The front-facing 25-megapixel camera is AI assisted and allows users to create those great looking shallow depth effect. The rear part of the pop-up bezel consists of a dual camera setup. It has a primary 16-megapixel f/2.0 aperture snapper with OIS and a secondary 20-megapixel camera.

The Find X is powered by top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 SoC and is backed by 8GB of RAM and an onboard storage of 128GB and 256GB.

It is powered by a 3,730mAh battery which supports VOOC proprietary charging. The 256GB variant of the Find X supports SuperVOOC Flash Charge which allows the phone to get recharged to 100 percent in just a matter of 35 minutes.

July 19

Vivo Nex S

Like the Oppo Find X, Vivo's Nex S also feature unconventional design language that makes us excited about it. Vivo Nex S gets added to this new breed of notch-less smartphones that have started making an appearance here and there. It makes the smartphone manufacturers experiment with all different sorts of design languages and innovation in different parts that make it into a smartphone. The highlight of the Nex S is its pop-out front camera which is slyly hidden within the top bezel. Vivo didn't stop there at all. The Nex S also has an in-display fingerprint sensor which is also a new and emerging alternative to physical sensors on smartphones.

The Nex S features a Super AMOLED, 6.59-inches Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2316x1080 pixels. This is to achieve a screen-to-body ratio measuring 91.24 percent. The back of the phone is also covered in glass with minute design patterns engraved into the back which makes for a nice looking effect.

There's a dual camera setup on the back of the Nex S which consists of a primary 12-megapixel camera with a f/1.8 aperture backed by 4-axis optical image stabilization. The secondary 5-megapixel camera assists in depth measurement.

The Nex S is powered by Snapdragon 845 and comes with 8GB of RAM and storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. It runs on Android 8.1 based Funtouch OS 4.

Blackberry Key2

Announced last month, the Key2 looks eerily similar to the Blackberry Keyone but we understand the design challenges that come with a QWERTY keyboard in place. As such, the Key2 builds upon the flaws in the Keyone, like any good successor.

The Key2 has its chassis crafted from a 7000 series aluminum while its rear panel is made from plastic. There is a 4.5-inch IPS display with a 1620x1080 pixels resolution on the Key2 while the rest of the space goes into the QWERTY keyboard placement.

The Key2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and is supported by 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 64GB/128GB. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with additional features that should look familiar to every Blackberry fan.

Blackberry Key2 has a dual camera setup on the back which consists of twin 12-megapixel cameras with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.6 respectively. The front houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera as well.

The Key2 is powered by a 3,500mAh battery which supports fast charging for up to 50 percent in 36 minutes as claimed by the company.

Xiaomi Mi A2

Rumored to arrive India soon, the Mi A2 is one of the hotly anticipated smartphones. After the success and response garnered by the Mi A1 in India, it's only logical for the company to continue with the series. The successor which we believe to be the rebranded version of the Mi 6X will come bearing Android One goodness. The Mi 6X has already been launched in China and is expected to make it to India soon.

The Mi A2 is expected to feature a 5.99-inch IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio topped with Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the A2 will rock Snapdragon 660 chipset with an octa-core processor. The phone is expected to arrive in 4GB/6GB RAM variants with 64GB/128GB storage variants.

Xiaomi's Mi A2 will also feature a twin camera setup on the back which will consist of a primary 12-megapixel camera and 20-megapixel secondary camera. The front also houses a 20-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Mi A2 may also have a battery capacity of 3,010 mAh battery supporting fast charging courtesy Quick Charge 3.0.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3

Xiaomi has a reputation for launching a new and update smartphone every two months. July is also the month the company launched the Max 2 in 2017 which makes it rather prominent that the Max 3 makes an appearance.

The Mi Max 3 is expected to feature a humongous 6.9-inch IPS FHD+ (2160x1080 pixels) display which will be topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.

It is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC backed by 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with an onboard storage of 64GB and 128GB respectively.

The camera setup on the Mi Max 3 will also get the dual camera update. It will sport a primary 12-megapixel camera on the back along with a secondary 20-megapixel camera. The front will also be home to an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

This gargantuan of a smartphone is rumored to be powered with a 5,400mAh battery supporting fast charging.

Huawei Honor 9X

Honor 9i (2018) which was launched in China just last month is expected to arrive in India this month. However, it might get rebranded to a new name, the Honor 9X.

The smartphone features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280x1080 pixels) display and has a notch based design which gives it a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The 9i (2018) is powered by homegrown Kirin 659 SoC with octa-core chipset and is backed by 4GB of RAM. The phone is available in 64GB/128GB storage variants. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0.

Honor 9i (2018) sports a twin camera setup which comprises of a 13-megapixel primary camera and a secondary 2-megapixel snapper which helps the camera system in depth sensing. There's a 16-megapixel camera as well which makes it to the front of the smartphone for selfies.

The smartphone is powered by a 3,300mAh battery.
