While most companies seem to be busy either making high end flagship phones or something under the ₹10,000 price bracket it seems hard to get a phone in the mid-tier smartphone range. To provide more options, Samsung is taking advantage of that and claiming the middle ground with their A series smartphones. The S series has taken much of the thunder and overshadowed the A series.

It's time to take a look at exactly what each of the phones in the A series have to offer and why Samsung is trying to regain lost ground in the Indian market.

The A series was recently announced by the company and the lineup consists of 3 smartphones- the A10, A30 and A50. Each of the phones have distinct features and it's time to see which one you should put your money on.

Starting with the Galaxy A10, it has an infinity V notch display with a size of 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel. The resolution on this phone is 720 x 1520 pixels, which is not much, but manages to provide clear and vibrant displays. The A30 and the A50 both have rather similar infinity-U displays with the same screen size of 6.4-inches with SuperAMOLED displays. Additionally, both phones also have the same resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

From the front, the three phones look rather similar to each other and the main difference comes at the back of the phone. The A10 has a rather bland looking back with a single camera setup at the back. The back only lacks a fingerprint sensor. As far as the A30 is concerned, it has a dual camera setup and an attractive back panel and the fingerprint sensor is centrally located. The A50 on the other hand is the most premium and sports a triple rear camera. There is no cutout for a capacitive fingerprint sensor as it is located under the screen.

Perhaps the most important factor among all phones, the RAM and processor is what sets the three smartphones apart. The Samsung Galaxy A10 uses an Exynos 7884 octa core processor and comes in a single 2GB RAM model. As for the GPU, the phone uses a Mali G-71 GPU to help enhance gaming performance.

The Galaxy A30, the mid-tier smartphone of the lot comes equipped with an Exynos 7904 octa core chipset. The company has said that this processor is capable of AI ability to make the phone faster and learn usage patterns. The A30 houses either 3GB RAM or 4GB RAM depending on which variant you purchase. The phone comes with either 32GB or 64GB of on board storage.

The top tier smartphone, the Galaxy A50 is the most premium of the lot and sports a powerful Exynos 9610 octa core processor, which rivals the likes of Snapdragon 660 and 710. The phone comes in two variants- a standard 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage and another 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant. The phone even has some neat features that, the company says, will make it perform well in the long run.

Cameras compared

The A10, which is the most budget friendly phone of the lot has a single rear camera with a 13-megapixel sensor. At the front, there is a 5.0-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 resolution.

The A30 on the other hand has a dual camera set up. The primary sensor in this smartphone is a 16-megapixel sensor while the secondary camera is a 5-megapixel sensor. The secondary camera helps with depth sensing and portrait mode pictures. Up front, there is another 16-megapixel sensor for brighter selfies.

The A50 sports a triple rear camera setup and has one wide angle lens to help it capture wider scenes. The set up is a 25MP + 8MP + 5MP setup that combines pictures for greater detail and vibrance.

Battery and Software

In the battery and software department, the phones are pretty much the same as the A30 and A50 sport a 4,000mAH battery, while the A10 comes with a 3,400mAH battery.
